Eeeeeee - Could this be The Lemon Twigs best work to date? Back with ‘A Dream Is All We Know’, the band have channeled their vintage rock ethos, hooked up their analogue workflows and delivered a sun-soaked dreamscape that’s sure to remain in your rotation all summer long.
Brimming with nostalgia, the album muses with Beach Boys-esque harmonies as the New York outfit borrow from the west coast/ new wave sound with a polished flair. More is more on this album as the small details fuse together, leaving you to discover more with every listen. Creating interest with layered harmonies and riffs, The Lemon Twigs have mastered the art of drawing the listener in to the world they’ve created - producing an indulgent listen that’s perfect for any escapist amongst us.
From their smooth production to their masterful composition, ‘A Dream Is All We Know’ sees the band at their very best. With a timeless sound and energy, the music brings manic feel-good bops - injecting our brains with a bit of that vitamin D that the British weather has been lacking so far this year. Overall the album flows seamlessly, creating a cohesive record that’s skilfully glittered with just the right amount of dissonant notes and phrases. This is a perfectly polished record from a band who continually deliver - but I guess that’s all we know.
